Gabrielle Caverl-McNeal

Gabrielle Caverl-McNeal is the Program Officer for Employment at the Lloyd A. Fry Foundation, where she oversees grantmaking efforts aimed at helping families and individuals move out of poverty by supporting comprehensive job training programs that enable individuals to access living-wage jobs and careers. In her role, Gabrielle brings her extensive background in workforce development to collaborate with grantees partners to design and implement initiatives that promote economic mobility.

Gabrielle entered the workforce development field in 2009. She successfully led programs specializing in trauma-informed coaching practices to mitigate barriers caused by toxic stress and systemic poverty to advance Chicagoans toward economic mobility. She works with leading practitioners from around the country providing technical assistance training and implements practical planning tools to develop strategies to strengthen the local workforce system.

Gabrielle is an Economic Opportunity Fellow with Chicagoland Workforce Leadership Academy through the Chicago Jobs Council, the Chicagoland Workforce Funder Alliance, and the Aspen Institute & Economic Opportunities Program which works in navigating the workforce policy and funding environment and combating disparities related to race, ethnicity, and gender in the labor market. She is also a YSEALI Professional Fellow with the American Councils for International Education to strengthen ties between the U.S. and Southeast Asia. Gabrielle holds a master’s degree in Communication and Training from Governors State University.

Gabrielle, born and raised in Chicago, is a wife and mother and spends her free time rummaging through thrift stores and spoiling her granddaughter.
