Our commitment to grantee partners amid policy changes

In light of the rapid policy changes at the federal level, we want to take a moment to reaffirm the values that guide the Lloyd A. Fry Foundation. We know that uncertainty can create challenges for our grantee partners and the people they serve, and we want to assure our grantees that our commitment remains steadfast. With that in mind, we share the following statement the Foundation sent to our grantee partners:

“The policies being rolled out by the new administration are creating a climate of uncertainty for many of our grantee partners and the people you serve. We want you to know the Lloyd A. Fry Foundation will continue to be guided by our longstanding values and practices. We want to hear from you about the challenges you are facing and how we might be helpful. We will seek to offer flexibility, long-term support, and collaborative approaches to help the communities we support navigate these new conditions.

The Foundation's staff and board know the generational impact that systemic policies have had in creating barriers to opportunities and progress for communities of color. We continue to be committed to supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion. Fostering diverse perspectives, promoting equitable opportunities, and creating inclusive environments is essential for the well-being of our society.

We will stand by grantee partners serving low-income communities, including immigrant and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer communities.

We want our grantee partners to know that we stand with them, and we will strive to act on the values we hold close.”
