Senior Program Officer, Sherly Chavarria, appointed to ISBE

Building on a strong team of diverse experts in their fields, Governor JB Pritzker announced on Monday, June 26, 2023 that Fry Foundation Senior Program Officer of Education, Sherly Chavarria, will serve as a Member of the Illinois State Board of Education (appointments pending confirmation by the Illinois Senate). Dr. Sherly Chavarria is a highly experienced leader with over 15 years of experience at various levels of education. She has worked in the community, as well as in classroom, school, and district settings. She currently serves as the Senior Program Officer for Education at the Lloyd A. Fry Foundation.
