New Report from Ingenuity and the University of Chicago Consortium on Research
Education grantee UChicago Consortium on Research, and Arts Learning grantee Ingenuity co-authored a report that examines the relationship between arts education practices and social-emotional development. The authors describe how arts learning experiences have the potential to promote the development of social-emotional competencies and suggest that these developmental processes can be replicable across subject areas.
What kind of theory of action describes the role arts education can play in children's social-emotional development? What mechanisms of arts education can affect social-emotional competencies? This project set out to answer these questions using existing literature and evidence from interviews with educators, administrators, students, and parents in Chicago Public Schools.
